KBC Mumbalanga, born on May 20, 1940, in Luapula Province, was more than just a man—he was a pillar of strength, wisdom, and inspiration. A devoted father, a cherished grandfather, and a true family man, he touched the lives of many with his kindness, resilience, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled and the countless lives he influenced
The world knows few people who spend all of their existence filling others lives with hope and happiness. Kapembwa Bwalya Christopher, an evangelist, teacher and a mentor to many; Christians and non-Christians was one such person.
Kapembwa was well known for his love for his love for Christ and Christian sharing. Mostly, he will be loved and cherished for his profound teachings about Christianity and everything else about life, transforming people
CHILDHOOD
Kapembwa came from a humble background. Born into a relatively poor family in Nalile Village of Luapula Province, he grew up in his grandmothers’ home. Kapembwa gave his life to Christ after being influenced by his father who became a Reverend of the United Church of Zambia.
It didn’t take long for Kampembwa to completely fall in love with the religion. He went on to take up Economics and Law for his Bachelors degree from the University of London. He later joined the World Bank as a fellow of the Economic Development Institute and later went on to do the Intensive Economic Development Studies for both Developed and Developing Countries under the Economic Management Systems. Soon after Kapembwa was out, he founded KBC Supplies LTD.
EARLY CAREER
Kapembwa became general manager at a tender age of twenty-nine for the ten Indeco Industrial Finance Company LTD and was a wholly in-charge of loan schemes of the government of the Republic of Zambia. He went on to become General Manager of Zambia Clay where he exhaled in overall company sales due to great customer relations and business sense.
People loved him and due to his great customer relations, he used it as an opportunity to also minister about Christ and led them to the lord. But more than that, they loved his cool manner and infectious personality as he was ever smiling and had a positive outlook on life. Due to his hard work and great personality, he was elected as the PTA Chairman for Valley View School hall as well as the United Church of Zambia in Kwacha East Kitwe as part of his giving back to the community and Christian living.
Kapembwa was a successful business man who later left formal employment to form his own company called KBC Supplies, a meat wholesale company and was sole supplier of meat for many organizations notable ones being Zambia National Service, Zambia Army, Zambia Police, Hostels Boards to mention but a few.
Kapembwa was married to Rosemary Kangwa Fulani who was a teacher by profession and partner in his meat business. The couple have eight children, two of whom are deceased.
When death struck Kapembwa Mumbalanga in May, 2017 due to a struggle with cancer all of his friends and associates grieved for him. But just like Kapembwa always said, ‘’The best place to be and the best friendship on earth was with Jesus Christ and so he was finally home’’. And there has never been a life that was more filled with purpose than that of Kapembwa Mumbalanga.
